EODS Young EODS SECTION
Information for Prospective Members
Young Eastbourne Operatic & Dramatic Society (or Young EODS)
is the Junior Section of the Society and usually performs once a year, in the Autumn,
at the Devonshire Park Theatre.The age group is from 8 to 18 years and admission to the section is by Audition.
These are held in the early part of each year.
Everyone on the Waiting List who is of a suitable age for the production
chosen for the year is invited to attend.
Nothing has to be prepared but on the day prospective members learn and perform a short dance routine and a song. They may also be asked to read a short piece of dialogue and have a short chat with the Audition Panel.Membership of Young EODS is limited to around 40 to ensure that everyone has a chance to perform in the production and the number of new places each year is usually limited to between 5 and 10.
Rehearsals take place at the EODS Centre in Seaside, Eastbourne on Tuesday evenings plus Sundays during the day in September & October. Members are expected to attend ALL rehearsals to which they are called.
